Hello school family!

Important upcoming dates:

This Saturday, we will continue rehearsals for the November 18th celebration. Please continue to practice the song at home. YouTube link: Maza mana tēvu zeme

November 12th, singer Masaki Nakagawa will be visiting KBLS.- At 6pm that evening, all KBLS families are invited to attend the Lāčplēsis Day concert at The Estonian House, where he will perform many familiar and popular Latvian songs. KBLS students receive free admission!

November 19th, at 2pm, we will be celebrating Latvian Independence Day. The school day will start one hour later, at 10am. The students should be wearing the school uniform – for girls: a white blouse or sweater and dark blue or black skirt/pants – for boys: a white shirt with a collar and dark blue or black pants. None is allowed to wear gym shoes. Students will be fed a pizza lunch in their classrooms under teacher supervision. After lunch, we will have one more rehearsal before the 2pm performance. Students in grades 5-high school will be expected to sit with their classes through the end of the show. Students in younger grades will be dismissed into their parents care after the school sings their song. They are welcome to sit with their families for the remainder of the show,

The next two Saturdays, Ligzda will be putting finishing touches on the cafeteria renovation, All helping hands are warmly welcomed, needed and greatly appreciated, The unveiling of the cafeteria will follow the November 19th show.

An important reminder about wellness:
Please keep your child home from school if he/she is coughing or feels unwell in general. Let’s all do our part to remain healthy!
